Create a Web site
• Sketch your site on paper
• Convert your Web page to a FrontPage
“web”
• Add new blank pages to your site
• Re-arrange your Web site map in
Navigation view
• If you use shared elements, FrontPage
will fix hyperlinks to match new map
Shared Elements
• Borders
– Similar look to all pages in your site
– Logo or text placed once: appears on all
pages
• Navigation Bars
– FrontPage automatically creates links to
• other pages on the same level
• other pages on “child” level
• other pages on “parent” level
Fix broken hyperlinks
• Find broken links within your “web”
• Displays list of broken links
• Fix links right in the list
– (don’t need to search for broken link inside web page)
• Fix “globally” every page with same
broken link in one step
• Also can search and display broken
links due to changed Internet pages
Create Web site maps
• Help find pages
• Publish map to your web site
• Also can create Table of Contents for
your web site
• Note: visitors should be able to get
anywhere in your site within 3 clicks!!
Download Web sites
• Use File/Import command
• Entire Web site can be captured to your hard
drive
• Great for off-line viewing and presentations
• Can try for Web page which has layout you
like -- just download one level
– Be careful: may not work if JavaScript or other
programs are loading content from hidden scripts
on the server
– Look at the HTML source -- if tags look like
straight HTML, should be ok
