My objectives?
Use a K.I.S.S. approach to help others
build a web site for fun.
Show how it can be done with free
software programs.
Develop interest in a QCS Webmaster SIG.
What do you need to get started in
simple web page design?
1.
2.
3.
A web page editor
An image editor
An address or location on the web
All three are available without cost!
Class members receive a free CD
with these downloads:
Photo Editing programs:
PaintShop Pro (two trial versions),
Gimp, Irfanview, and Picasa.
FrontPage Express: WYSIWYG page editor
WS_FTP95: a file transfer utility
Is that really enough?
Yes, these programs are good enough to
build respectable pages.
The new QCS site was designed using only
FrontPage Express.
Beginners find the simpler programs easier
to learn.
In FrontPage Express, you instantly see how
your page will appear on the Web.
It’s fun to use and works a lot like MS Word.
