CD Based Image Distribution
• We can produce DICOM CD’s with patients
exams to take offsite
– Make request at file room
• DICOM CD’s being brought to us
– Should be able to read them on any relatively new pc
for immediate access (autorun), different viewers
– Take to file room to request images be added to
PACS (patient must be registered), can’t import all
images
– These CDs must be kept confidential, and they must
be appropriately archived and destroyed
– Working on a better way to handle outside exams
