 Lectures are on Mondays and Wednesdays only.
 Fridays are reserved for completing the end-ofLesson quizzes, reading the book, quiet
contemplation, etc.

HOMEWORKS AND THE CRRA




The three Writing to Specification assignments related to the
CRRA should be completed individually, and submitted online,
on or before the due date given on the Web site.
The three assignments will be completed in the first month of
the semester – they are “educative” assignments.
You can download the assignments from the Web site. Your
answers to Assignments 1 and 2 will be submitted as ANGEL
quizzes.
You will submit Assignment 3 in a drop box on ANGEL
CAMERA-READY REVIEW
ARTICLE (CRRA)

The objective of this semester-long assignment is to
prepare a publication-quality, camera-ready review
article on the applications, history, processing,
structure, and properties for any material of your
choice.
 At approximately two-week intervals, you will be
required to submit a short, 200+ word essay on, for
example, the applications of your chosen material.
CAMERA-READY REVIEW
ARTICLE (CRRA)

The CRRA components and the final report may be
completed in groups of three, in pairs, or individually.
CRRA components should be submitted online, on or
before the due date given on the assessment schedule.
 Deadlines for the completion of the CRRA
components are given on the Web site.
COMMUNICATIONS

2% of total grade is available for
participating in the various surveys, which
will be posted periodically, and for
contributing to the discussion boards. I will
e-mail you when surveys are available.


All written communications, whether by ANGEL e-mail or on
the discussion board must be grammatically correct, properly

All written communications must be courteous and polite.
Examples of impolite behavior are posted on the Web site.
E-mail is only to be used for communications between single

BOOK NUMBERS

For your convenience, and to ensure your privacy,
we shall use “Book Numbers” for identification
purposes. Book #s will be assigned during the
second week of class. As soon as the Book #s are
available, we will let you know. You should then email us to get your individual number.
 You will use this number for your Perception
quizzes, and on your assignments/CRRAs
ARE THE LECTURES
IMPORTANT?
Isn’t virtually all of the content online or in the
book?
 YES! However, you will get much higher quiz
grades by coming to class, because each
Monday, part of the lecture will be devoted to
taking a not-for-credit practice quiz. Each
Wednesday, part of the lecture will be devoted
to practice quiz feedback
 This is 50% of your grade.

ARE THE LECTURES
IMPORTANT?

YOU WILL SCORE A LOT HIGHER ON
YOUR ASSIGNMENTS AND THE CRRA!
Each week that an assignment is due, or a

lecture time discussing the assignment!
 This is 50% of your grade.
