• CEOs:
There are no gaps in what the service offers
The service is now smoothly integrated into the
workflows of many Australian libraries
The service is only for librarians
The service does not need to provide access to
digital content
Survey results
• Cataloguing
“a nation of libraries.. You catalogue a book once, not many
times, and that has to have a significant productivity effect.”
• InterLibrary Loan
“For InterLibrary Loans, it is definitely worth the payment… our
library has gotten smaller in the last 10 years and we got rid of
a lot of material but we know it is available elsewhere if needed
and we now rely on that service to supplement our collection.”
• Searching
“Please consider providing advanced search options to users
of the free search. This would make Libraries Australia a
fantastic service.”

Directory integration project
• Intention to integrate the details of the Libraries Australia
Administration module, the Australian Libraries Gateway
(ALG), and the Australian InterLibrary Resource Sharing
Directory (ILRS)
• Commenced: feasibility & analysis
• ISO 2146… Registry Services for Libraries and Related
Organisations at http://www.nla.gov.au/wgroups/ISO2146/
• Benefits: organisational details maintained in one place,
‘open’ details shareable with other services
