IEEE EHW
• EWH: IEEE Entity Web Hosting
– This service is intended to meet the needs of IEEE
entities who want to develop, create and maintain their
own web site on an IEEE host.
– The general philosophy is that posting entities will be
responsible for their content, its maintenance and its
conformance to IEEE policy.
– Entities are expected to choose a single webmaster who
is skilled in managing web content. This webmaster will be
the entity contact and the only one authorized to post
content to the web site. The webmaster will be expected
to work with IEEE staff to insure that site security
measures are effective.

Setting Up Chapter’s
Website
• Assign a webmaster who is responsible for the site
• Request a SCV sub website account (ask Rockwell)
– account name and password
– URL: http://ewh.ieee.org/r6/scv/chapter_name/
• Generate a chapter home page: index.html (on your
PC)
• FTP the web page and data to EWH server
• Pilot run your website
• Inform SCV webmaster of linking your web site

Design Tips
• If you are not sure, don’t use html extensions and
Java scripts that are browser specific. You want
to cover most of your audiences.
• Use counter for site statistics
• Keep the page simple and be focus
• Use table format to layout the page
• Save a backup copy of your site
• Use search keywords in header section for
locating your web site
