Why Use Clip Art?


A movie needs special effects to keep
you interested.
Documents, newsletters, and, web
pages need clipart to keep the reader
interested.
Where Can I find Clip Art?

Buy software from any computer or
appliance store.
Download clipart from the internet.
Use clipart that is in your computer.
Scan pictures for clipart.

Let’s focus on the internet.



Clipart From Microsoft
Word/PowerOint







Go into Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint and choose
Insert
Click on Picture then Clip Art
The Clip Art Categories will appear
Choose a category>click on picture
Picture will highlight>right click>insert clip (will show color)
Click back on your word document or powerpoint document and
picture will appear on your document
Your picture will have 8 tiny squares around it>these can be
used to move and reduce/enlarge the picture
Clip Art From the Internet





Using the same directions as before, get to the Clip
Art gallery in Microsoft
At that screen, click on the “Clips Online” at the top
of the screen
It will ask you if you have access to the internet>click
yes
Then it will ask you if you agree with the license
agreement>click agree
Here you have many choices of clipart to choose
from>choose a category or type a specific search
A Little More Tricky

There are web sites that contain very
useful clipart

Some are easy to download

Some are hard to download
Locating Clipart

Go online>click on the “world w/
magnifying glass” to start a search
Type in Free Clip Art
There will be many sites that will come
up(They are not all Free!)

How to Download From
Internet






Locate your clip art
Left click on the clip and click on “Save picture as…”
Type in a name and click save
You will go into “My pictures” and locate clip
Left click and click on copy
Click back on your document and click “paste”(It
should come up)
