Welcome to our “A Christmas Carol” Web Quest
Research Assignment! You will work with three
other classmates to gather background information
before we begin reading Charles Dickens’ A
Christmas Carol.

A Christmas Carol is about a miserly, selfish old man named Ebenezer
Scrooge. One Christmas Eve, Scrooge is suddenly visited by the
spirit of his business partner, Jacob Marley. Marley warns Scrooge
that his selfish ways are going to come back to haunt him. He tells
Scrooge that he will be visited by three ghosts: the ghosts of
Christmas past, present, and future. Will the spirits convince Scrooge
to change his ways, or is his fate sealed?
1. Each member of your group will research one area
of information relating to “A Christmas Carol”:
Charles Dickens (Leader)
Victorian Family Life and The Workhouse (Teacher)
