b) “Senior” horses
3. Omega 3 fatty acids (DHA and EPA) for:
a) Mare fertility
b) Titration study planned for all inflammatory conditions

Do All Live Yeasts Perform Equally?
Thousands of different strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (> 1,000)
All differ in the ability to stabilize gut pH (acidity) and improve fiber
digestibility
Strain I-1077 has been specifically selected for optimal performance in the
horse:
How?
Screened hundreds of different strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae
in the laboratory for pH control and fiber digestibility
confirmed performance in ruminants, then in the horse

Equi-Ferm XL Improves the Digestibility of the Ration :
Equi-Ferm XL live yeast, scavenges (binds) O2 therefore, maintaining anaerobic
conditions in the hindgut, favoring the bacteria that consume lactic acid (lactate).
Equi-Ferm XL maintains and stabilizes pH by promoting the growth & activity of
bacteria that can utilize lactic acid (lactate utilizers) and reducing the proliferation of
lactate producers.
Equi-Ferm XL provides a direct source of nutrients (vitamins, amino acids…) to the
beneficial bacteria.

Equi-Ferm XL Maintains Digestive Health :
Equi-Ferm XL reduces risk of digestive disorders, e.g. colic,
that can be associated with high starch concentrates
commonly used in performance horses, broodmares, young
stock and stallions
Mode of Action:
Equi-Ferm XL supplementation (2g/day) increased the number of lactate utilising
bacteria & reduced lactate in the hindgut avoids fall in gut pH7 (characteristically

seen in horses fed high starch diets)
