in salinity, temperature and

• Shallow & turbulent- Results in
high amount of dissolved oxygen
• Tides cause area to be nutrient
rich- rivers bring nutrients from
above & tides bring nutrients
from ocean

dissolved oxygen, causes rapid
decomposition of organic wastes
