Why is livestock important to
Minnesota?
• Livestock consumes
– 74 million bushels of soybeans annually
– 225 million bushels of corn annually
• Livestock generates $27 billion in total
economic impacts
• Livestock supports nearly 177,000 jobs
• Livestock production contributes 53.4% of
Minnesota’s total agricultural income.
