This cooperative learning activity is

rank the items from least important

write the task individually and then
discuss their answer with the group.
The group will rank the items again
as a team.

watching to much television and
munching chips. It is time to firm up
and lose ten pounds of that winter
insulation.

Experts Reasoning for the
Ranking
Pills-taking pills does speed
up your metabolism, but it is
a quick fix. There can be side
effects. Pills are addictive.
When you stop taking pills
you gain the weight back.
Bingeing
When a person skips meals the body
shuts down and slows its digestive
speed to conserve energy because the
body thinks it is starving. Bingeing
causes heart problems and the acid in
your stomach starts eating at the
stomach lining and teeth.
Weight Lifting
Weight lifting is good. It will speed
up the digestive process and burn
calories. It will firm the body up. At
first a person may gain weight
because muscle weighs more than fat
which is good in the long run.
Drinking Water
By drinking more water
the bodies system can
eliminate excess fat and
unused sugars cleansing
the body system.
Eating 4-6 Meals
By eating more often the body system
constantly burns energy. This keeps
the bodies waste moving.
Walking
By walking or doing your favorite
activity two to three times a week the
body system speeds up, builds strong
muscle, and burns more calories.
