Bridging Grant
Competitive grants for SEAs to sustain prevention work
– Iowa would be eligible for approx. $125,000. The
SEAs role will be to assist LEAs to:
Establish partnerships to sustain prevention work
Seek new funding streams
Enhance prevention strategies

School Climate Initiative
5-7 awards, $4.2 – 5.8 million, 48 months
Adopt/adapt/develop school climate survey
Yr. 1, develop surveys
Yr. 2, administer surveys K-12, all students, staff,

20% of state enrollment must participate in survey
in order to qualify
States partner with LEAs with greatest need
LEAs submit plans based on survey results
