About us
• Set up in 1985 by the Trustee Savings Bank Group;
• One of four independent charitable trusts
• Distributing 1% of the Bank’s pre-tax profits;
• Since then we have made in excess of 13,000 grants
totalling almost £94 million to thousands of charities
the length and breadth of Scotland.
• Changing relationship with Banking Group, covenant
ends 2019.

• Pilot initiative in West Lothian = £48k

• Capacity building support totalling £20,000
• 237 charities attended one of our face-to-face surgeries
• Over 150 practitioners attended PDI Conference

• Strategy ratified by Trustees in February 2014
• Will run for three years until February 2017

PDI background
Partnership Drugs Initiative (PDI) is a relationship grant-making
programme and a partnership between Lloyds TSB Foundation
for Scotland and Scottish Government and recently The
Robertson Trust.
Focused on children and young people affected by drug and/or
alcohol issues (either their own or that of a parent/carer)
Established in 2001 to:
o
increase the well-being of children and young people in
Scotland affected by drugs and alcohol
o
help develop and influence both local and national policy
and strategic direction

Look at understanding local needs and view:

Connecting to local strategies (Alcohol

Using the learning from the ground up

Recovery, Alcohol Framework)

What makes a good
project
o Trusting relationships and continuity of staffing.
o Flexibility and addressing presenting needs helps with
therapeutic interventions.
o Change doesn’t happen in isolation there needs to be a
connection to the local landscape and other local partners
(both statutory and other voluntary groups).
