contusion, concussion
Greatest protection against skull fracture (RR=0.31)
and cerebral contusion (RR=0.29)
Strong protection also against intracranial
hemorrhage (RR=0.49)
Evidence of modest protection against concussion
(RR=0.80), though not statistically significant [95% CI
(0.64,1.01)]
Conclusion: Motorcycle helmets protect against
brain injury, not only skull fracture
