“Drug investigation:
Disclosing information”
ADVANTAGES:
- Increased investigation capabilities: More assets, both human and material.
- Criminals do not expect international cooperation: information obtained in one
country can be useful in another country.
- Organizations completely dismantled: From country of origin to country of activity,
all persons involved can be arrested.
- Use of different investigation techniques; i.e. one country may tap a wider variety of
devices, another country may have a more permissive legislation concerning
undercover operations.
MAIN BARRIERS:
- Distrust of other police forces, both national and international.
- Sense of ownership concerning our investigation.
- Glory seeking
