Kenya’s political power.

Parliament last Thursday
on the new power-sharing
agreement.

Budget Cut in Drug Coverage
• On Wednesday Baldacci proposed dropping
coverage on drugs for people on Medicaid.
• This will trim $7 million from the states
general fund budget.

make 5,600 people who
use Medicaid to pay $25
dollar enrollment fee.
• Lawmakers are divided on
whether the plan is good
enough for what they are
giving up.
• Baldacci says he will veto
any bill that will raise
taxes.
Spitzer Resigns
• On Monday, Eliot Spitzer
resigned as Governor of
New York after being
linked to a prostitution
ring.
• He has been under
pressure to resign since
allegations of him using
prostitution have been
brought up.

been using this
prostitution ring for
18 months.
• He will hand over
power on March 17 to
Lieutenant-Governor
David Paterson.
