• Help clients reach their full potential by
developing self-awareness and self-acceptance
• Client centered therapy with active listening
• Therapist provides empathy, mirroring what the
client says
• Unconditional positive regard – no judging
• No advice is given – builds client’s self confidence
enough so they can address their own problems
