Believes that people thrust into corrupt
institutions have no choice but to become corrupt.
FATALISM VIEW

Puts the solution to problems beyond our reach
and thereby spares us responsibility for them.
RAMIFICATIONS

What if society protected illegal drug users under
the “Americans with Disabilities Act”…???

 Would L.E. agencies then be required to hire
drug abusers???

RAMIFICATIONS

If we do not hold the offender responsible for the
crime then who do we hold responsible?

Perhaps the Victim?????
She deserved to be raped, she left her bedroom window
open
 So what if he was lost, then severely beaten, he had no right
to be driving in that neighborhood.

RAMIFICATIONS

Under the therapeutic way of thinking, it would
be acceptable and understandable to have a
certain percentage of corruption in police
agencies and for that matter, any public body.
RAMIFICATIONS
Therapeutic Vision

liberty and justice “treatment” –
denies due process,
individual responsibilities
and
individual rights
DOUBLE STANDARDS
Higher Standard vs Double Standard
 Is there an expectation of Higher Standards in:

Police agencies?
 All government agencies?



A progressive obliteration by politicians of the
distinction between higher standards for public
servants and double standards within
government itself (trend away from higher
standards transcends all party politics and
threatens excellence in public service
