Why Community Managed
Offenders?
Higher levels of
• mental health issues,
• drug and alcohol dependency,
• poor physical health and
• higher levels of risk taking behaviours.
Aims
• To improve the health and well being of
community managed offenders
• To reduce health inequalities
• Improve resilience and coping mechanisms
to support individuals to make positive
health choices and restrain from risk taking
behaviour such as alcohol/drugs use
• Reduce the prevalence of re-offending
Objectives
• Provide health checks and life skills intervention to all
individuals out with the Keep Well age group
• Remove barriers to accessing services through
referrals to partner agencies and outside
organisations as required
• Gain a better analysis of the health issues of the
target population for future consideration
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the local Keep Well
Model with the target group
