photograph?
The main subject
• The main subject of this photo is meth. In
this photo, the girl is selling her body for a
cheap fifteen dollars so that she can afford
her drug. This photo shows what the drug
can do to you and what you will do for it.
What is the appeal to ethos?
Ethos
• The appeal to ethos is the text in the lower
left hand part of the picture. The text reads
“Montana Meth Project”. This text gives
credibility because it is a group who has
had experience with the subject. The text
at mid-page on the right hand side also
references the Montana Meth Project and
gives their web page.
What is the appeal to logos?
Logos
• The appeal to logos in this photo is that if
you realize that things have gotten that
desperate, why would you continue to use
this drug? Logically, you would try to get
help for your addiction.
What is the appeal to pathos?
Pathos
• This photo appeals to pathos because you
can relate to it. You would never do
something if you knew it would hurt you.
You wouldn’t want it to happen to
someone you love either. It plays your
emotions because it could be someone
you know or care about.
Where is the focus of the photo?
Focus
• The focus on this photo is on the girls face. She looks
drained and helpless. Her eyes are looking off into the
distance and that draws you to them because you want
to know what she is looking at.

What happens when the text is
removed?
Removed text
• If the text is removed, the image just
becomes a sick girl being taken control of.
The fact that meth is the problem is no
longer evident.
