Negative Effects of Prescription Drug
Abuse
What is Prescription Drug
Abuse?
Recently, there has been a rise in students
abusing prescription drugs as “study-aids.”
Traditionally, the drugs Adderall and Ritalin
are the most commonly abused.
Always talk to your pharmacist or
physician about mixing prescription
drugs with alcohol.
Effects of Prescription Drug
Abuse
• Increased irritability, agitation or anger
• Apathy and depression
• Paranoia, delusions and hallucinations
• Lower threshold for violence
• Psychological dependence
• Drastic changes in sleep patterns
• Sudden weight loss or gain
• Stunted growth
Mixing ANY prescription drugs and alcohol
(or other prescription drugs) can be
extremely lethal
