History of Methamphetamine 1920’s – 1960’s Widely used and accepted worldwide for a variety of reasons. Some people used it properly, while others abused it. History of Methamphetamine 1970 The Controlled Substances Act limited the reasons to use, make, and sell methamphetamines and all other drugs. What is methamphetamine? What is methamphetamine? A powerful central nervous system stimulant. The drug works directly on the brain and spinal cord. What is methamphetamine? There are many chemicals in the brain called neurotransmitters. What is methamphetamine? Methamphetamine affects the chemicals that regulate our mood, sleep and appetite. What does it look like? Powder Rocks/Chunks What does it look like?
