• Alcohol Strategy
– Crime and Disorder Focus

• Drug Strategy Update
– Focus on restricting supply, reducing demands elements, +
update on NPS (Oxy, temp controls, trading standards etc.)
– No systematic review, progress detail, future objectives, or
much reference to 2010 DS.
– No additional report of how gov. was ‘tackling housing
needs’ as stated in 2010 DS
Payment by Result Drug & Alcohol
Recovery Pilots
• Launched beginning of April
• 8 Pilot sites - Bracknell Forest, Enfield, Kent,
Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Stockport, Wakefield
and Wigan.
• Final outcome definitions: drug(s) of dependence,
offending and health and wellbeing. No
employment.
• Not exclusive: Government suggested other local
areas can adopt elements if they are encouraged
by the findings
London Councils Grants Specifications
• Tackling homelessness amongst individuals and
households listed as one the four main ‘priority
areas’
• Three key service areas – early intervention and
prevention, emergency accommodation and
advice services, and support services.
• The other priority areas are: preventing violence
against women; tackling poverty by promoting
employment and training; and providing support
to London VSCOs, enabling orgs to access funds,
skills and resources.
London Councils Grants Details
• Budget not agreed, but appears to be around
£8m.
• Consultations on specifications will run from the
beginning of July (approximately) and last for 3
weeks.
• Current homelessness and DV commissions
extended to 31/3/13.
• Applications for 1013-14 commissions open from
1st Aug until 15th Sept. All agencies able to apply.
