Drug & Alcohol NOS Review
• Skills for Health are undertaking a review of the DANOS with sector
stakeholders to ensure they reflect current practice
• Funded by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills
• Need to ensure that the final suite of NOS revised as part of this
project are unique to delivering substance misuse services
• All generic NOS that are in the current suite will be ‘replaced’ with
existing generic NOS to ensure transferability and reduce duplication
Project timescales
• Steering and Working Groups have held their first meetings
• Working Group are underway revising the content of the NOS
• Revised NOS will go forward for wider consultation via the SfH
website from beginning of August 2013 until end of September 2013
• A service user consultation will also run in parallel
• Project must complete in January 2014
• Final NOS to be submitted for approval early February 2014
