Grant Flexibility
CVSA Recommendations:
Congress should consolidate and reconfigure the
existing takedowns of the MCSAP, which would
provide states with addition flexibility to better
address individual needs.

Congress should streamline the Compliance Review
process, while strengthening enforcement and penalties.

Onboard Safety Systems
CVSA Recommendation
CVSA supports legislation that encourages accelerated
adoption of advanced safety systems for commercial
vehicles, specifically: electronic brake stroke monitoring
systems; vehicle stability systems; lane departure
warning systems; and collision warning systems.

Congress should direct DOT to investigate impacts of
increased weights to safety, environment, infrastructure,
