LEPTIN
• Polypeptide hormone secreted by fat cells
• Blood levels proportional to total fat mass
• Plasma circadian rhythm: acrophase during the
night (4 am), nadir during the afternoon
• Pulsatility in opposite phase with ACTH and
cortisol
