Infozoom is a program that helps you
do visual data mining. It achieves
this by allowing you to



Explore data
Analyze data
Search data
User Interface

There are two variables in Infozoom.


Objects - define each row
Attributes - define each column
Presentation Style
Infozoom has 3 types of presentation
styles:



Wide View - individual objects
Compressed View - entire data
Overview - categories
Functions
Within each presentation style, there
are four important functions:
 Zooming in
 Zooming out
 Sorting
 Graphing
Functions - Zooming In and Out


Zooming in - focuses on specific part of
the database in relation to the rest of
the database
Zooming out- default setting, views all
information in database
Functions - Sorting
Sorts from A to Z or from least
to greatest value
Sorts from Z to A or from greatest
to least value
Functions - Graphing
Plots attributes of specific objects onto any
one of the following graphs:
• Bar graph
• Pie chart
• Line graph
• and so on…..
Domains
In particular, we will focus on 3 different
data domains:
 Dating
 Environment
 Cars

Dating Questions:
 Supply the ScreenName of a
Hispanic Male residing in California,
if one exists.

 Does higher horsepower imply
lower MPG?
