

Revenues from fish-fillet exports dropped from
US$161.6 million in 2004 to US$152.5 million in
2008.
According to a report by Tanzanian authorities
on March 28th 2006, 80% of the revenues are
from fresh-fillet exports, while 20% are from
exporting frozen fillets.



In 2004, the total tonnage of exported Nile
perch - popular in the European Union - was
71,000 tons, but they fell to 63,000 tons in 2003.
Why is this? It is because of the damaging
methods used for fishing.
Abusing dynamite fishing forms weakened
rubble fields within the lake, thus reducing the
fish habitat.

The key forces of growth within the short and
medium terms came from





private consumption,
exports and gross fixed capital,
tourism revenues,
foreign investments and aid.
The government also intends to direct
interventions to ensure that GDP growth is
propelled mainly by key sectors

agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, mining and
infrastructure.
Do you agree on globalization if it’s
a good thing or a bad thing?
