Albania: an increasingly free economic force
In the Heritage Foundation’s 2014 Index of Economic
Freedom, Albania’s score improved to 66.9 out of
100, making its economy the 54th freest economy in
the world. Its overall score increased as a result of
clear improvements in its investment and trade
freedom. The improvements mean that Albania is
now ranked above 18 European countries with an
overall score that is above the world average.

Low Workforce Costs and High Availability
Albania not only offers a highly skilled workforce – it also offers some of the
lowest labour costs in Europe. Labour relations between employers and
employees are regulated by individual employment contracts in accordance
with the Labour Code of the Republic of Albania.

Agriculture

Market liberalisation in accordance to the new strategy

obligations to the EU directives;
