LO – To be able to give reasons why some
countries are poorer than others.
What did we learn on Friday?





Accuracy of statistics?
 This week – to get the most up to
date statistics, and to find out
possible reasons why your countries
may be LEDCs.
Task
Using the CIA website- world factbook, you are going to
produce 2 case studies to help explain why your countries
may not be very developed. You will start it in class today.
 www.cia.gov
You will need the following in your case study;
 Flag, Map of region (ie Africa / Asia), Wealth (GDP) and a
written explanation (in your own words) why your country
is less developed.






Where to look, once you have found your country;
Introduction – will give you a clear overview
Geography – look for natural hazards
Economy – how many people work in agriculture? What is
the GDP per capita? Where is it ranked in world?
Any other statistics you think show lack of development.
(eg. Use of phones etc)
