How to handle SENSE?
„The only thing“ we had to do:

Implement xml structure compliant to
XML/RDF SENSE Feed Specification
Several prerequisities needed:
1) To have national web publishing system – fill
it with all relevant and needed information
and data
2) To start cooperation with content making
team, to share the „word is not web“ idea
3) To have somebody to implement rdf – „is
capable of and has time to do that“

We have ISSaR, but

No English version of web – we have prepared the
translation of RDF linked parts (and still continuing…)
Not all data was in the data warehouse - added
CMS didn‘t contain neither all texts nor usable structure
„word is not web“

Content making SoER team wasn't aware that the result
should be web presentation - change of approach needed,
already written texts had to be rewrited
„ is capable of and has time to do that“

Time and resources have been found (as usually…)

National usage of RDF
Inspired by the SENSE project – SIRIUS
• Usage of RDF and semantic web concepts within a
national environment data integration platform
• Plans to use bidirectional RDF to link different
systems
• Data mining, processing and assessment (RDF plugin
for Statistica SW)
OK, and what next…?
SENSE 2 – it is a worth to continue!
• Continuous updating of data published in SoER 2010
• Spreading of technology among other EEA member
countries (now 13 participants)
• Moving other EEA activities to RDF -> CSI
• Cooperation among countries (transboundary,
regional) - countries are publishing RDF, EEA
displays results
• CENIA supports involvement of the CZ in the
SENSE 2 project
