What (Who?) is ECO-Asia?
• The USAID Environmental Cooperation - Asia Clean
Development and Climate Program (ECO-Asia CDCP) is a
program supported by USAID’s Regional Development
Mission - Asia (RDMA) with additional funding from Dept.
of State Asia Pacific Partnership (APP).
• Since its inception in 2007, ECO-Asia CDCP has
developed partnerships to facilitate clean energy
technologies and practices to address Asia’s immediate
energy challenges and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

• Private Financing for Clean Energy

• Promoting Energy-Efficient Lighting (www.asialighting.org)
Partnership Agreement between Kerala EMC and ECO-Asia
• In May 2008, the ECO-Asia CDCP, with APP funding,
formed a partnership with Kerala EMC to support the State
in its efforts to create a State Energy Conservation Fund.
• Partnership activities include:
Assessment of market potential for energy efficiency investments
Design of KSECF
Development of options for financial structuring, fund management
and administration
Criteria for selection of investment opportunities and projects
Preliminary development of a pipeline of investment projects.
