Introduction
• Working on getting summaries and info out of tkLayout for services
• Under development (not debugged, not updated)
• Used as reference among detector, electronics and mechanics designers ,
to assist communication and decision-making
• Not to compare ‘1-1’ now but to trigger conversation for comparison
(offline).
• Code can be used for different pixel geometry configurations w/o
modification
• Contents of the talk:
– First part : introducing the new summary tab added and pointing out what needs
to be updated / discussed
– Second part : some useful plots

Barrel Table Part #2:
Powering description

Reminder of “SP rules” as summarised by Charles [July’s tracker week,
https://indico.cern.ch/event/548644/]
– Maximum length of SP chain: 8clusters
– BPIX rods/FPIX Dees/FPIX rings/FPIX rings side independent from each other
– SP chains can be made of “clusters” that can be modules 1x4 or 2x2 with chips on
module parallel powered or Two Modules of 1x2 each, parallel powered.
• The reason why is that for the moment there is no protection foreseen and
only the failure scenario of 1 out 4 chips (meaning the rest will need to carry
32%Ichain extra current) has been studied. There is no guarantee that a chip

can carry 100% extra current.

• Although L4 at higher radius, the length till the optoconversion dominates.
• Min ~400cm and max ~550cm BPIX TWPs.
• Very short distances for FPIX TWPs.
