Voltage Optimisation is the concept of reducing the incoming voltage
from the grid to achieve the optimum voltage for your equipment.

To evaluate the potential of installing VO, we identify the types of load on
site and categorise:
 VOLTAGE DEPENDENT: An electrical device whose power consumption varies
with the voltage being supplied to it
 VOLTAGE INDEPENDENT: An electrical device whose power demand,
within it’s designed operating range, is independent of supply voltage
 Discharge Lighting
 240V Halogen Lighting
 Fluorescent Lighting Magnetic Ballasts
 Refrigeration Loads
 Chillers
 AHU’s
 Ventilation Systems (without invertors or VSD’s)
 Motors/Pumps (without invertors or VSD’S)
 Lifts/Escalators (without invertors or VSD’s)
 Manufacturing Machinery (without invertors or VSD’s)
 LV Lighting
 Electronically Controlled Lighting
 Any motor load with invertors or VSD’s
 Electric Heating
 IT Equipment
 Other electrical equipment
To evaluate the effectiveness of VO, we require:

Energy usage HHD or Electricity Bills

Maximum Demand

Kwh Rate, (pence per unit)
From this, we can do a quick desk-top survey and to provide indicative quote.
If this is of interest, we will do a full site survey to:
 Log the Voltage over 7 days
 Survey the site for the load profile and installation
From the information gathered, we would then provide a firm proposal
detailing the size and type of equipment, together with relevant
warranties, actual savings and guarantees.
