Technical Requirements (extract from our specification)
•
Preference is that overall power requirements for an individual system be
achieved within a single 19" rack mounting chassis. Where this is not
possible, e.g. for the larger systems, then two or more 19" rack mounting
chassis may be used provided their outputs can be connected together
whilst still maintaining current sharing.
•
The bidder should state “Comply” or “Doesn’t Comply” against the
following requirements for clarity in evaluating offers.
•
Housing : 19” 3U, 4U or 6U high chassis for Rack mounting
•
Hot Swappable/pluggable Power Supply modules with Input Voltage:
220VAC Input Frequency :50Hz, Output Voltage: 24VDC and 15VDC
versions (see table), arranged in an N+1 or Dual Redundant configuration
with Power Sharing.
•
Efficiency : >= 80%
•
Ripple & Noise (Acc. to IEC/EN 61204) : <= 50mV p-p
•
Output Hold up time : 15ms
•
Deviation due to dynamic load change (Transient Response) : for 60%
step load increase, output voltage must not deviate by more than 3V.
•
Front of Module LEDs for Power Supply Status
•
Power Fail Signal: Volt free contact to be provided (via terminals on the
rear of the chassis) for power fail indication of any power supply module.
•
AC input terminals and DC output terminals to be provided at the rear of
the chassis.
•
Operating Temperature: 0 - 55 degrees Celcius
•
CE Marked for compliance to EMC and Low Voltage Directives (Immunity
and Emission)

In addition, the bidder should indicate the following in
the offer:
1
“In rush current" when turning on the power system (for both "no
load" and "full load" conditions)
2
Level of power factor correction (if provided)
3
MTBF for each power supply module
4
Method of power sharing e.g. "Active Current Sharing" (third
wire), or "Passive Current Sharing" (Droop regulation/Slope
Programming).
5
If current limiting is provided on the 24VDC/15VDC output,
please specify and indicate the level.
6
Height of the 19” rack mounting chassis which houses the power
modules.
