What is digital ?
Digital means encoding,
There are several types of encoding,
Most evident is RS 232 or RS 422 but
Who is familiar to PCM encoding ?
At least, telemetry specialists
Here is our understanding of digital
Digital ?
The analogic signal is converted in
digital signal.
For a single channel it is a simple
message that can be recognized at the
end of the process.
Nothing is simple in telemetry and
encoding is the most complicated part
of telemetry.
Why encoding is a hard
time ?
Transfering a measurement into digital or ‘ word ‘
message is complicated, measurement has to be
accurate and free of noise and spurious signals
before being translated into a ‘ word ‘ or binary signal.
Most common translation is from analogic into RS
232 message.
This is the better and the worst : RS 232 is
convenient for computers but will not offer, unless
slow messages are concerned, a good measurement
solution.

A transmitter !
The transmitter as 6 inputs, 5 are
usualy dedicated to measurements and
one is left for battery voltage.
Conditionners are shaping each
measurement in acceptable voltage,
then these are switched in digital to fit
on a kind of RS message
Rx Receivers
At reception,
Receiver is built to receive one or
two transmitters, one or two RS
signals will be at the output of the
receiver for a processing on a
computer.
Receiver is a stand alone unit, as
on the picture, the black unit and is
connected one to the antenna and
the other to the computer
Programming
Sequence, time and so on are to be programmed in
factory ( in some cases at user’s place ).
The sequence will include two to
four lines and will tell the channel
for each on the 5 data for each of the
4 lines.
A sequence will then be of 20 data
all together.
Sequence is transmitted from 1 to
12.5 ms up to 86 ms
Softwares
Data are transmitted in ASCII format and can be used
any way from there.
A software has been developped for users.
Mutrad
Mutrad is quite basic to offer adjustments,
reading, motions display in engineering units.
Mutrad will make the connection, easily with
the computer and help users to get data right
away.
We suggest to develop on proprietary
softwares the adaptated processing for each
specific applications, knowing any one can
start up from Mutrad.

cooling in several industries …

Flex products needs flex
transmitters
The flex transmitter was designed for
flat metal sheets processing.
The digital RS telemetry concept
has been transposed to follow
parameters on flat sheets of steel
during processing. Telemetry
transmitter is bending as well as
the metal plate.
Most of the RS
applications
Are dedicated to temperatures
But hygrometers, pressures sensors,
gaz detections belong to the experience
gained during implementations of
systems.
Our efforts, today, are dedicated to new
applications.
PCM Telemetry
Encoding
PAM : Pulse Amplitude Modulation
PDM : Pulse Duration Modulation
PPM : Pulse Position Modulation
PFM : Pulse Frequency Modulation
PCM is a lot more tricky
PCM codes
The frame
Includes a Biø-L a NRZ-L and a clock
messages.
With a 1 MBp/s, the complete message,
synchronized and dated with a PDM
clock, is transmitted.
Number of channels is from 6 to 48.
PCM signal goes from 15 to 1000 Kbit/s
Our PCM Encoder
Simple but efficient
The encoder is in full package with
space left for conditionners and
transmitter
Demodulation
From receiver, with a simple plug in
card for computer and a strong
software.
User will process data
PCM message is demodulated after its
reception, then is feeding a specific card
inserted into a computer to process data
and supply results as tables, motions,
bargraphs and others.
Issued from Military, aeronautics and
space business, this type of telemetry
remain expensive but really efficient.
