RACELOGIC EMULATOR TUNING
What the emulator is used for:
The Emulator is a hardware device that is used as an interface between a personal computer and an engine
management computer. The specially developed software supplied with the Emulator is first used to download the
original engine management program in the ECU to the Emulator and then allows the user to manipulate this
program while the engine is running.
This Real-time use allows tuning changes to be evaluated immediately, either out on the road or track or using a
Dynamometer. Once the desired performance changes have been obtained, they can be programmed onto a new
chip which then replaces the original in the ECU.
Tuning With Electronic Engine Management
Modern electronic engine management systems provide manufacturers with the ability to tune their engines to
meet strict emission standards and provide a consistent, but not optimal, power output.
The biggest difficulty in improving the performance of modern engines is overcoming the barrier posed by the
electronic engine management. The Racelogic Emulator is the key that unlocks the secrets of these ECUs. It
provides a sophisticated but easy-to-use tool that overcomes this difficulty.
With the Racelogic Emulator, it is possible to manipulate any engine characteristic such as fuelling, ignition or the
rev-limit within the ECU. Any changes made take place immediately, with the engine still running. This allows
immediate evaluation of any improvements.
LOCATION OF THE DYNO
• The dyno is at GRAF AUTO CENTRE, 151
Bentworth Ave, North York (near Lawrence and
Caledonia) tel: 416-789-3423
• Currently, dyno rates are $75 for 2 runs
(includes set-up and one test run) and $25 for
each additional run. The hourly rate is $85 +
tax
• General mechanical service also available
