I had a little cactus.
I put it in a pot.
I placed it by the window
Where the sun was nice and hot.
It grew up to the ceiling,
Then climbed back down the wall.
It climbed right down the staircase
And out into the hall.
My mother and my father,
They could hardly pass.
They said, ”This plant will have to go,
There’s no room left for us!”
Mr. Chan lives next door to Mr. chow. Mr. Chan

Grandpa’ s Plant
Book p.34
Grandpa and Grandma went to buy some plants. “ I’ ll buy a tomato
plant,” said Grandpa.
He picked up a pot with a small plant in it. “ I’ ll take this one.” he
said.
“ Is it a tomato plant?” Grandma asked.
“ Of course!” Grandpa Laughed.
Grandpa took the plant home. He watered it every day. “ soon, we’ ll
have many tomatoes,” Grandpa said. He waited and waited.
One day, Grandma said, “ Go and look at your plant. You’ re
going to get a surprise.”
Grandpa was very happy. “ Tomatoes at last!” he said. He
ran to the garden and looked at his plant.
It was covered all over…with bright orange flowers!
