It’s the time for new life.
Plants begin to grow.
Animals start their life cycle.
A pond in SUMMER
Plants and animals continue
growing
The pond is very busy.
A pond in AUTUMN
The weather is cold and it rains.
Fallen leaves from the trees everywhere.
Some animals prepare to hibernate.
A pond in WINTER
Life in the pond is very quiet.
Many animals save their energy for the warmer
weather.
Trees have no leaves.
Life cycle of a frog
We are mates and
we are mating to
create tadpoles.

I’m growing inside
my egg. In 10 days,
I’ll be almost ready
to hatch out.

Once I am out
of my egg, I
swim up to the
surface of the
pond where
there’s a lot of
food.

When I’m
six weeks,
my back
legs start to
grow.
My front legs
grow. Now
I’m a froglet!

My tail gets
shorter and
when I am 13
weeks, my
tail is almost
gone.
After three months I
breathe through my
lungs. I’m ready to live
on land. I’m a frog!
and the cycle starts again
