Running Crab Spider
• Running crab spiders
chase prey and crab
spiders perch and
wait for prey, typically
on flowers and
leaves.
• Not as colorful as
other crab spiders.
Tarantula
• Tarantulas are the
biggest of spiders.
They have two big
fangs.
The sizes range to as
small as a fingernail,
to as big as a dinner
plate.
Tarantula can live in
Rainforest and dessert.
Writing Spider
• They are large,
colorful spiders that
build their nest
around homes and
gardens.
• Five different species
are common in the
United States.
Daddy Long Legs
• They are also called
harvestmen.
• Daddy long legs have
eight legs, but only one
body part.
• They have the
nickname harvester
because they are
omnivores that harvest
most insects and plants
that cross their path.
Jumping Spider
• Jumping spiders are
smart.
• Jumping spiders are
usually less than 2 cm.
• Jumping spiders,
common name for any of
a group of hunting
spiders that can leap 10
to 40 times their body
length.
Fishing Spider
• Fishing spiders are
meat eaters that hunt
by the water.
• They can literally
swim or walk on
water.
• Once spotted, the
spider can dart out
onto the water and
grab the prey.
