How to Grow Your Roses
Roses need a full day of sunshine, about 6 hours.
Your bush will need about 4 gallons of water a
week, during the summer.
Flowers may not bloom as largely in the summer
because of hot weather.
It is a good idea also to fertilize and prune your
bushes.
How Do Roses Grow?
After planting your bush, by digging a hole in
your flower bed just big enough for the roots to
fit in comfortably, pat dirt back into the hole
lightly so that all the roots are covered.
Next water your rose bush, the plant will take in
the water through its roots and up to its leaves.
There the rose will change the water and
nutrients into a special sugar for energy.
These sugars will be stored in the leaves until
the plant needs them. If a branch gets broken
off, the carbohydrates will help fix it.
Hints and Tips for Your
Garden
Cut flower stem diagonally, that way it won’t set
straight on the bottom of the vase.
Cut roses off of the bush early in the morning
or late in the evening.
All the nutrients are high in the stem at these
times.
Your Flowers will last much longer this way.
Use pesticides and disease killers to prevent
these problems, it’s better to prevent then to
fix these issues.
