My class and I are making observations outside of our window
each month. We have a thermometer and a tall tree. We have
a couple of flowers. They are purple and white. The leaves are
starting to turn red, brown and yellow. Berries are growing big.
It is 77 degrees. I will be looking forward to writing again.

I’m Patrick. I live in Sylvania, Ohio. I go to Highland School. It is 1:’’pm. It’s Nov. 11, 2008. It is 49 degrees.
Broad-leaf trees have completely lost their leaves. The weather: Mostly cloudy. The evergreens, called
conifers, are still green. Cirrus clouds cover the sky. The trees are getting ready for December-January sleep.
The leaves are orange-red. I expect December and November are a BIG difference.

Today is December 10, 2008. My class and I are looking out our window to
see if it changed from last month. Outside our window it is like a graveyard
to dead plants. The weather is 30 degrees and a lot of leaves are on the
ground. There are not many much berries on the trees, the grass is brown
and plants are dead. What will it look like in January?
Today is January 14, 2009. The
snow is falling down. The
conifers are white. The snow is
white sparkles. Our temperature
is 20 degrees. Some of the
berries are still on the tree.

We did a Room With a View today. The
wind chill is 1 degree. The temperature
is 11 degrees and about 2 feet of snow.
There are absolutely no leaves. It is so
fun doing Room With a View. –Andrew,
Sara, Anthony, Abby Mi.
Goodbye plants, hello snow. The
wind makes it 1 degrees. The
time is 2:04. It is lightly snowing.
The leaves disappeared like
magic. There are broad-leaved
trees outside. They are as bare
as feet in the summer. There are
mounds of snow as tall as 11
bricks. If Phil sees his shadow,
we’ll be back in winter. -Zack,
Colette, Patrick, Brandon B.

It is a beautiful day it is Feb. 10, 2009. It is 61 degrees. The ground
is very squishy outside. The leave buds are slowly growing and the

13, 2009. The temperature at Highland is 48 degrees at
2:10 P.M. There aren’t any clouds in the sky today. It is a
cool day and cooler than yesterday. Some plants are
starting to grow. Our birdhouse in the courtyard has a
cherry in front of it (probably to attract robins). In the
courtyard on the trees are still no leaves but on the ground
there is.

Hi it’s us again. The temperature is 96 degrees and there
is motern breeze blowing northwest. The grass is now light
green not brown. Tulips daffodils and other flowers bloomed.
Buds on the trees are sprouting. One of the trees has
purplish red leaves on it. The tree is a Crab Apple tree. Girls
Scouts planted it in 1990. I like doing the room with a view. Matt
