Hello
• We are about to take

a trip to see all the
world’s biomes .
We are going to see
many different things
from dry places to the
rainiest but watch
out.
This is the Tundra
• In the next couple of
•
slides we will be
talking about the
Tundra.
You will find out some
cool stuff that you
might not know.
Tundra
• Tundra is a type
of grassland with
tall snowy
mountains.
• Well the average
temperature of
tundra is -12ْ C.
• The normal rain
amount for this
area is less than
25cm yearly.
• So as you see this
is a very dry area.

• Tundra is found in the artic

Also the north pole is very
close to the tundra.
Not many people visit the
tundra because it is so cold.
Plant & Animal Life
• Tundra doesn’t have
many trees in it.
• The main vegetation is
grass and mosses.
• Some of the animals
are insects, ducks,
geese, voles, birds, and
mice.
The Taiga
• If you don’t know what the tundra is then these
next few slides are for you.
• In them we are going to talk about their plant
life, temperature, and many other things.
TAIGA
Taiga
• Normal rain amount is 25cm –
100cm yearly. It is located
between 50ْ and 60ْ north
latitude. The main plant life is
trees, mosses, & lichens. Also
some of the animals are moose,
lynx, shrews, bears, & foxes.
Taiga
• Taiga is a woodland
area with wooded
mountains.
• It’s normal
temperature in winter
is 0ْْ C and more
than 30ْ C in
summer.
The Grassland
• The Grassland is very diverse and we will
learn how
• It has many different animals and plants
so let’s find out what they are.

• Grassland is an open valley with green grasses

in it.
It is mainly warm and humid and has around
25cm-75cm of annual precipitation.

fall, temperature, and many other things.

• The desert is the
driest biome on
earth.
• It has very thin
soil, and sand
dunes.
• This biome is
normally very hot
and dry, it doesn’t
receive a lot of
rain.
• Also it gets less
than 25cm of rain
yearly.
• It is mainly found
around the
equator, but it is
also found in many
of the other
continents.

Temperate Deciduous Forest
• Do you know a lot about the forest?
• Well if you don’t then you are going to
learn lots of things about it.

• Biome with four distinct
seasons, it is a climax
community.
• The normal temperature
is 30ْ C.

animals that live
in this area are
lynx, bobcats,
song birds,
lizards, & snakes.

are evergreen
trees, dogwoods,
moss, oak, &
maple trees.
Temperate Deciduous
• This certain biome receives
around 75-100cm of yearly rain
• These forest are mainly found
in Europe, & North America.
Temperate Rain Forest view
• You probably know about the rain forest
but there are two types and we will be
finding out the differences in them.
• So hop on and let’s see.
Temperate Rain Forest
• This biome
receives 200cm400cm of
annual rain, and
it is dominated
by trees with
needle like
leaves.
• Rain forest are found in many

countries such as New Zealand,
Southern Chile, and the Pacific
Northwest.
• The regular temperature for this
biome is between 9ْ C and 12ْ
C
• The main plants are tall trees
with needle like leaves
• The main animals are bird,
lizards, & wild cats.
Rainforest in the Tropics
• So you think you know about the
rainforest but I’m here to tell you a little
more.
• We will be learning quit a few things so
buckle up and let’s go!
Tropical Rain Forest
• It has the most
biologically diverse
biome in the world, it
has many trees in it.
• The standard
temperature is 25ْ C.
Tropical Rain Forest
• These forest are found in South America, & the
British Isles.
• Rain forest receives 200-600cm of rain during
twelve-month cycle.
Tropical Rain Forest
• Most of the plants
are vines, & trees
• The majority of the animals in the
Tropical Rain Forests are tropical
birds, frogs, lizards, and large wild
cats.

special one is the
tiger.
This wonderful
creature is slowly
becoming extint so
help us out here.
We want them to live
to see tomorrow .
