They have dark hair with only their face, hands and ears
bare. Their arms hang down below their knees. Their legs
are short.
Up to 100 chimps live in a community. They have a
rank or position. The Alpha Male is the highest rank.
They groom each other.
The mother guards the young baby carefully. She cares
for the baby alone. The first month she holds the baby
and feeds it milk. The baby rides under her belly. They
become adults between 11 and 15 years old.
They live in the forest in Africa.
Chimpanzees eat termites, figs, fruits, seeds,
nuts, young leaves, insects and flowers.
