Grading






Attendance: 5%
Midterm Exam: 35%
Final Exam: 35%
Assignments: 10%
Design Project: 15%
The final grades are based on my assessment of
both absolute achievement and relative
performance in the class.

Homework Policy





The assignment is intended to complement and
reinforce concepts covered in lecture.
Part of your assignment requires to use MINITAB.
All assignments will be posted on the Web.
No late assignment will be accepted if you do not
have a pre-permission.
You may discuss some questions with friends but
must write their answers in your own words.
7





Questions must be submitted in the same order
as listed on the assignment sheet.
The first page should include your name, the
course name and due date. (NO COVER)
All pages must be stapled together (paper clips,
folded corners are not acceptable).
Use a ruler when constructing graphs and tables,
and label axes of the graph.
In addition to giving the answer, you should recap
the formula or method used.
8
Design Project




Your team completes one project consisting of
the proposal, the final report and the
presentation.
3 persons in a team.
The duedate of the proposal will be announced
later.
For the proposal, your group must clearly state
the problem of interest and the experimental
design to be used. Data may be collected by the
group itself or may be obtained from outside
sources (eg, journals, internet).
9



Actual data is not required in the proposal but the
discussion of the experimental design should
include how the data will be collected.
A final report takes on the form of a conference
paper. The final report should include data and
analysis with good discussion.
The due date of the final report will be given later.
