 How do you think relationships influence business

 Your first contact with someone begins a relationship
between the two of you.
 Whether as individuals or people in certain roles or
both, all future communication between you will need
to take relationship into account.

Organizational Contexts
 The type and culture of an organization you represent
will shape your communication choices.
 The organizational contexts of your audiences will, in
turn, shape their responses.
 Current circumstances
 Priorities
 Even how fast or slow its pace of work
 These can strongly influence the way your message is
received.
Professional Contexts
 Different professionals possess different kinds of
expertise, speak differently, and tend to focus on
different things.
 These differences can determine how your
communication is received.
 Be aware that your audience favor a different form of
style and language.
 Management vs. down line employees.
 Doctor vs. Engineer.
Personal Contexts
 Your personal contexts come from many sources.
 Genes you inherit from your family and upbringing
 Life experience
 Schooling
 People you come in contact with
 Culture you were reared in.
 It can also come from your current circumstances.
