DATING VIOLENCE
AMY FLECK
IVY TECH COMMUNITY COLLEGE
INTASC Standards, Description and
Rationale
Communication Skills: The teacher uses
knowledge of effective verbal, nonverbal,
media communication techniques to foster
active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive
interaction in the classroom.
To document my understanding of standard six
(communication skills) I selected to include my
contemporary issues PowerPoint. This assignment
documents my knowledge of both verbal and
media communication techniques in order to teach
a group of students a topic that eventually ends
with a question and answer session to further their
understanding.
For this assignment I created a PowerPoint to
highlight the important information about the
current issue of dating violence. Also, at the end of
the presentation, I created two questions to further
the discussion from my classmates.
