When and where was Tutankhamen born?
Tutankhamen was probably born at Akhetaten
which was the capital city of Egypt. He was
born in about the year 1346 .


At what age did Tutankhamen become a
Pharaoh?
He became pharaoh at the tender age of nine in
1337 and reigned during the 18th Dynasty
when the Egyptian Empire was at its height.
He reigned from about 1337 to 1328.

The reason that Tutankhamen is so well known
today is that his tomb, containing fabulous
treasures, was found early in 1922 by British

Robbers might have been there because a bag of
gold rings was found on the floor, as if dropped in
haste. But they did not take everything because
Carter and his team found many treasures inside
the tomb including a solid gold mask of King Tut's
face.
The artifacts in Tut's tomb told archaeologists and
scientists a great deal about ancient Egyptian daily
life. Many people all over the world became
interested in learning more about ancient Egypt
because of the exciting discovery of an ancient
tomb full of treasure.
