As the set designer, you will need to take into account the needs of other people for different reasons. The producer finances the show. They will plan the budget for the set and they will know what types of theatres the show will be going to. 4 of 10 © Boardworks Ltd 2009 Other considerations The costume designer will talk to the set and lighting designers to ensure the costumes, set and lighting all complement each other on the stage. The lighting designer will work with the set designer to ensure the sets look good. A notoriously difficult play to stage is A Doll’s House by Ibsen. How could you design this set?
